The public is invited to a Starting Block Party Friday, May 19, from 4 to 7 pm in the new Imagination Alley between Art on the Fly and Royal Jewelers on the west side of the courthouse square in Jefferson.
Many guests are expected in Jefferson as participants in the May 20 Market to Market Relay will be picking up their registration packets.
The Starting Block Party will include a Party in the Alley with Kelsey Wilson, muralist of the two-story mural on the side of Art on the Fly. She is eager to talk about the design and answer questions. Samples of food and Deal’s hard cider will be available, and The Shuffle Couple will provide entertainment.
Stores will remain open. Merchants invite shoppers to register for a chance to win Chamber Bucks, with the drawing taking place at 7 pm in Imagination Alley.
Also, a blind silent auction will be held during the evening for a Golden Ticket for the Sierra Community Theatre. The high bidder will have admission for themselves and a guest for every movie the Sierra shows for an entire year. Bids can be made in participating businesses, with the high bidder announced at 6:30 pm, also in Imagination Alley.
The event is presented by the Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Promotions and Tower View Teams.
